Triple-murder suspect Dr Griffiths was grabbed by armed police after a caretaker discovered horrific CCTV film of a woman being shot in the head with a crossbow.
The footage showed the victim, believed to be prostitute Ms Blamires, being chased in a corridor in the early hours of Saturday outside the university researcher's flat.

But the man, believed to be Dr Griffiths, reportedly returned moments later with a crossbow and fired a bolt into her head, before dragging her body away.
It was understood CCTV cameras also captured a man coming and going from the block of flats with bin bags.
Police in Bradford - home town of notorious prostitute killer Peter Sutcliffe, known as the Yorkshire Ripper - recovered partially decomposed body parts from a river in Shipley last night.
Ms Blamires vanished last Friday. The man with the bin bags was caught on camera over the weekend."
